Summary of Hustle Season 8 DVD Boxset
Hustle is a British television drama series made by Kudos Film and Television for BBC One in the United Kingdom. Created by Tony Jordan and first broadcast in 2004, the series follows a group of con artists who specialise in "long cons" – extended deceptions which require greater commitment, but which return a higher reward than simple confidence tricks. The BBC announced that the eighth series, which was first aired in January 2012, would be the last. The final series ended on 17 February 2012.
Series eight
The eighth series started airing on 13 January 2012 on BBC1 at 9pm. It was originally scheduled for 6 January 2012, however due to the showing of a special edition of Panorama on 3 January, the three part drama Public Enemies, which was due to run on three consecutive nights starting on Tuesday 3 January, was pushed back a day to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Hustle was therefore moved to the following week. Creator Tony Jordan has said that this will be the last for at least a while and the last with the current cast. Guest stars featuring this series include Sheila Hancock, Martin Kemp and Paterson Joseph and former Liverpool footballer, Ian Rush. Peter Polycarpou and John Barrowman have also revealed on Twitter that they will have guest roles in series eight. This was the third series to be filmed in Birmingham, the fifth in HD and the fourth series featuring all of the current cast. Adrian Lester is also set to direct an episode, in which Mickey is kidnapped. Other cons see the team take on the world of slimming pills and pull off a gold heist. Jaime Murray and Marc Warren reprised their roles as Stacie Monroe and Danny Blue respectively for the final episode.
